Pattern brands

I thought it would be useful, for myself as a memo and for my readers who might discover new brands, to list all sewing pattern companies I know in one place. If you know of another pattern company or would like to share some info about a brand listed here, please post a comment!

Big pattern companies

They cover different styles from daily wear to wedding dresses, costumes or historical clothing, for children, men and women.

Retro clothing

  • Edelweiss Patterns (US) – 30s and 40s patterns inspired by the Sound of Music movie costumes.
  • Colette Patterns (US) – Retro inspired patterns, 2 collections per year. Now offering pdf patterns as well as printed ones.
  • EvaDress (US) – Vintage patterns reproductions, from the 19th century to the 50′s.
  • Sew Chic Patterns (US) – Patterns inspired by retro styles from the 30s to the 50s.

Historical clothing

  • Truly Victorian (US) – Patterns from 1830 to the early 1900s. Mainly women, some girls and men. I like that the website is organized by silhouette styles, and the customer gallery. Heather, the lady who runs it, is really nice and very helpful.
  • Folkwear (US) – Patterns inspired from historical, retro and traditional clothing around the world.
  • EvaDress (US) – Vintage patterns reproductions, from the 19th century to the 50′s.
